Let us pray … November 4th
I rejoice at Your word as one who finds great treasure.
Psalm 119:162
GREAT TREASURE
Anything referred to as treasure is out of the ordinary. To refer to a treasure as ‘great treasure’, indicates that this is extra special. And so it is, the word of God is great treasure. By His word He formed the heavens and the earth. By His word all things exist and are maintained. By His word He orders all things as He wishes. What a treasure. I encourage you to seek out His word too, may you find it in Jesus name. As you do, surely, you will rejoice also, for the word of God indeed is great treasure, and by it we are saved, (there is life in the Word!) blessed, healed, made wise, provided for and have good success.
“By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.” Hebrews11:3
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. All things were made by Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.” John 1:1-4
“He said to Simon, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.” And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking.” Luke 5:4b-6
“The entrance of Your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.” Psalm 119:130
“Forever, O Lord, Your word is settled in heaven.” Psalm 119:89
Treasures are hidden, and have to be found. The one who finds it considers themselves very privileged, and hold on to the treasure, keeping it safe and guarding it, that it is not lost. If only we would not ignore the treasure that is available to us in His word. His word is creative, so speak His Word over all situations, that you may, by His Word, create the world and environment that He has ordained you to have. He has done all the work, He has given His all. He has come to this world to pay the price for all our sins, and has defeated sin and death on our behalf. How shall we neglect so great a salvation? How shall we have the keys to all problems in His word, and ignore these solutions through ignorance of the Word of God? All the answers are in His word. So, go to the Word of God, seek out the treasure, it is yours.
“Again, the kingdom of God is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls, who when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it.” Matthew 13:44-46
The psalmist rejoices as has found God’s word. He found it because he searched for it! You must search too. All that he requires can be obtained in the word of God. We are complete in Him. This is why the parable is told, of one who finds the Lord, and goes and sells all he has, that he may obtain the most important, the all in all, the kingdom of God. So rejoice. Rejoice in the Lord your God and in His word. Study diligently in His word, that you may obtain all the treasures He has for you, that is hidden in the word, search out the word of life for every situation. And rejoice. Again, I say, rejoice!
LET US PRAY
O Lord, thank You for giving us Your Word. I rejoice at Your word. Let Your word have its free course in my life in Jesus name, amen. Let Your will for me be done according to Your Word. Your Word runs very swiftly in my life (Psalm 147:15) in Jesus name, amen.
Teach me to be versed and skilled in the knowledge and in the use of Your Word in Jesus name. Let my life and times be framed by Your word and Your will for my life in Jesus name, amen. Thank You for the gift of Your Word to me, thank You Lord!
